Salary: $38,652 to $40,512 per annum

Starting Date: as early as September 20, 2005

 

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering seeks a qualified researcher for appointment as a Postdoctoral Scholar in Micro-fabrication and Packaging. The candidate should have a record of research documented by publications in premier journals and international conferences. A Ph.D. degree in engineering or physical sciences is required. Position requires demonstrated familiarity with MEMS fabrication processes, packaging, and system integration. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct research in the areas of solid-state and atomic micro-gyroscopes. Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills, as well as a strong desire to accomplish system functions beyond microfabrication, are required. Past experiences in dry and wet etch, glass bonding, electroplating, and some experience with electronics interfacing/data acquisition are desirable. Excellence in written and oral expression with the English language is a necessity.
