Chair in Microsystems Engineering

A
new endowed chair, the Henry Samueli Chair in Microsystems
Engineering, has been established in the Department of
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (http://mae.eng.uci.edu/),
University of California, Irvine, effective July 1,
2001.
Microsystems encompass a wide spectrum of emerging
microfluidic, solid-state, and opto-electro-mechanical
devices which require the development of innovative design
and fabrication methods with applications in aerospace,
automotive, medical, industrial process control, electronic
instrumentation, telecommunications, and integrated optical
systems.
We seek an exceptional individual who will contribute to the
teaching and research programs of the department and whose
accomplishments and reputation are consistent with an
academic appointment in the University of California system
at the full professor level.
Screening will begin September 1, 2001 and will continue
until the position is filled.
