Thesis
The thesis committee shall approve the subject of the thesis and administer the general
examination. The Chair of the committee directs the work and is the student's faculty
advisor.
Membership
The Master's Thesis Committee is comprised of three faculty who are voting members of the
UC Academic Senate -- not necessarily the Irvine Division -- or the equivalent. At least
two of the faculty have a primary appointment in the Department of Mechanical and
Aerospace Engineering and are voting members of the UCI Academic Senate.
Chair
The Chair of the committee shall always hold a primary academic appointment in the
Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and shall be a member of the UCI
Academic Senate; no exceptions will be granted for this position.
