| Research and education in this thrust area is unified by the
fundamentals of multi-body mechanics, dynamical systems and control, optimization, and the
design challenges of engineered systems. Research opportunities include the application of
these fundamentals in biorobotics, flight guidance, learning systems, mechanism design,
micro sensors and actuators, and the control of structures, combustion, fuel cells,
and aerospace vehicles. The curriculum covers the fundamentals
and their integration with domain specific knowledge and objectives in the application
areas. M.S. and Ph.D. theses address a topic in an application area or in general systems
and design theory and methodology. |
